Ravelry 101
It’s impossible to overstate the impact that Ravelry has had on the world of knitting and crochet. Yet so many of us only use a handful of the functions that this unique website offers makers. Bring your own device (laptop, tablet, etc.) and learn some tips and tricks to get the most out of your Ravelry account. Pre-work: Make a Ravelry account Materials: Bring a personal laptop. Ravelry doesn’t have a mobile app so laptops or iPads are best to navigate it. When: Sunday, October 19, 12-2p Cost: $30 |

You'll also learn Duplicate Stitch (Swiss Darning), if you want to personalize your mittens. Prerequisites: Folks must be comfortable working a small circumference in the round: either with DPNs or Magic Loop. Pattern: The World’s Simplest Mittens by Tin Can Knits Materials Needed (bring or buy at the shop):

Knit a Sweater that Fits
Have you ever knit a sweater, carefully following the pattern, only to discover that it doesn’t flatter you? Or even more heartbreaking, it doesn’t fit the way you hoped it would? It’s happened to all of us, and the problem isn’t your knitting or your body, but the fact that patterns are designed to fit an “average,” and we are all unique! Learn how to take accurate measurements, compare them to a pattern you want to make and adjust the pattern so you’ll love the result. Bring a pencil, a tape measure, and a sweater or vest pattern that you want to knit and we’ll talk about fit, pattern schematics, adjusting the math, and more. You’ll leave with greater confidence that you can create a wardrobe staple you’ll reach for again and again. Materials: Bring a tape measure, pencil & paper, and a sweater or vest pattern you want to knit. When: Sunday, October 26, 12-2p Cost: $30 |
