This class is accessible for right-handed and left-handed students and is a great fit for those who have taken Shelby’s Crocheting 101 or need a refresher. The first class will cover increasing and decreasing methods and joining new yarn to change colors. The second class will teach you the rib stitch, how to check your gauge, and some seaming methods. The third class will introduce crocheting in the round, slip stitch, and how to read a written crochet pattern. Class size: 4 students. Beginner classes are small, to maximize individual support from the instructor. Skill level: Beginner crocheter. You know foundational stitches including single and double crochet. This class will cover a lot of new skills but is not intended to teach you how to crochet. Check out Crocheting 101 if you have never crocheted before. Materials: Students need an H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook and a skein of worsted weight yarn. Materials can be brought from home, borrowed from our Recycle Center, or new material kits can be purchased at the first class for 10% off.
